Blast from the past

Sorry it's been so long since I posted. Honestly not a lot going on other than running kids hither and yon in an effort to get them to all the places they're supposed to be. S continues to work and is going out with friends when he can. C continues her soccer (now kicked up to 4-5 times a week) as well as homework and roller skating with friends on Friday nights. A's nose remains in her books, mixed in with a healthy dose of outside playing with friends. Darling hubby continues working hard.

Me? I've been busy not only playing chauffeur but I've been earning my keep with youth ministry. Last week we had a closing party for our jr. high youth group. It was 70's and 80's night - complete with big hair, ripped jeans, gelled hair, off-the-shoulder sweatshirts and music. We had a ball!! A lot of the youth wore tye-dye shirts but I did have a Don Johnson/Miami Vice guy and a Bruce Springsteen circa Born in the USA (one of our assistants). My hair was bigger than it was back in the day. I had ripped jeans with a tank top under an oxford shirt. A big belt around my waist (a little bigger than back in the day) was my main accessory. Dear hubby's class ring was around my neck. The look was completed with striped socks with the jeans pegged and tucked into them. Remember the day??

We enjoyed the music and I loved embarrassing my loving daughter C who couldn't believe her mom was dressed like that. Too funny!! I also let the youth check out my old yearbooks - they got a big kick out of them... and all the stuff I'd saved in them (like ALL the newspapers from my 4 years in high school, notes, class ring order, etc.).

And for the record? My class ring still fits.
