What a Weekend!!
It was a great weekend!! It kicked off with C's volleyball game (they won) with dinner before with my parents at (where else??) Barleycorns. From there it was on to the first youth group time slot for the Volleyball Marathon benefitting the Madonna House. It's a great organization that helps single moms and their young children get a good start in life. J and I have supported them for years - they're awesome. The youth group has too which is cool. C and her friends played and had a great time. They weren't ready to stop when the time was up.
Then it was on to pick up S and his cousin A for the second youth group time slot. Once again both boys had a great time. Their height really helped them to win points for their teams. We got home at going on 2 am and all crashed at the house. It was nice to have Cousin A spend the night.
Saturday dawned a rainy day, but that didn't dampen our spirits as the girls: C, A and I, checked out the new Young Chef Academy. It's a fun cooking school just for kids. A loved making the recipes and learned a little bit about the science behind the recipes as well. Definately somthing we'll check into for her. She's our little Rachel Ray. Then it was off to the library for books and movies. Once home we got to relax, always a good thing.
Finally on Sunday, in between my work stuff, the girls and I made a big breakfast for everyone (strawberry pancakes with strawberry topping and blueberry pancakes with blueberry topping (both using fresh berries), goetta, turkey bacon, eggs with cheese. The house smelled like breakfast even last night!! We also enjoyed S's basketball game - both he and J had good games. The team played the best they had all season and only lost by 10 points. Pretty cool. Then it was dinner at (where else??) Barleycorns with my parents and J's sister and her hubby. The girls also worked on invites for A's upcoming slumber party. A wanted to make her own so we designed a card using stamps and glitter and punchouts. The girls did a great job with them. My job?? To mail them out today.
Busy weekend but fun for all.
