Winter Wonderland

The snow/ice storm has come and gone. We got some snow and ice, but nothing like what folks just a mile away got. Somehow being in the valley spared us the ice covered trees and power lines of the rest of our city and regional area. So here are some other pics from my Mom (thanks again for the awesome pics!!) showing how the second wave of ice further crystalized the trees and bushes in her neighborhood. I think it's gorgeous - and was a bit sorry that we didn't get a crystal coating in our area. It was really pretty when the sun shone in the trees and made them sparkle. I just got back from taking the girls to school (they were on a one hour delay while S was off again), and I can't describe how stunning the trees were as the sun came up brightly this morning. It was simply magical - crystal trees shimmering in the bright early morning light. Simply amazing. Unfortunately the best views are those which I can't take pics of because they're views from the road. Enjoy Mom's pics and imagine the other sights in your mind.

I love the way ice looks on trees too! Deadly for them sometimes, but so pretty.

Very cool.
