The calm before the storm

The white death is coming!! The white death is coming!!

That's what we used to say when I worked at AAA and snow was predicted. People panicked at the slightest mention of snow and called us wanting to know the best way to prepare and handle it. Didn't matter how much snow was predicted, people reacted as if the white death was coming.

Today, the white death is once again predicted, but instead of the usual 1 inch, we're supposed to get up to 6 INCHES!!!! So the city and suburbs will SHUT DOWN with the falling of the first flake today I'm sure.

I'll admit that I've been watching the weather pretty closely after my weather alert radio went off yesterday with a Winter Storm Warning (that RARELY happens). So today schools are closing an hour early, but S and my nephew A have to work at 4. THAT should be a fun trip since it should be at the start of the white death. Even more fun?? Picking him up at 10 tonight!! :-p
