Extreme Room Makeovers - OPEN THOSE DOORS!

Since S has moved out (he's helping take care of his grandmother right now, which is cool), the girls were able to go from 1 shared room to 2 individual rooms. (They gladly moved from 2 rooms into 1 so that S could live with us. They have said, repeatedly, that they'd gladly move back if he would move home. It won't be necessary - if he moves home, we'll build him a room downstairs. All 3 kids know this!)

A few years before S moved in, we had redone C's room in an African kind of theme. Brown walls, navy blue accents, lots of natural colors in furniture and accessories. She loves having a teen room, with lots of floor space for friends to enjoy. She's really decluttered a lot of her stuff and only kept that which was important to her. It's easier for her to keep clean, she now has a desk to do her homework on (which she uses sometimes), and sleeps much better at night.

Since A's room never received a renovation before S moved in, her room got the extreme makeover. We put in new carpeting, got her a desk for her homework, and decluttered like crazy. She also got a new shelf unit and alarm clock. We painted her walls white and then splattered them with hot pink and navy blue. A also picked out a new "room in a bag" online - we had to search high and low for it in the store. It was regular pink and hot pink. She loves using her desk and is keeping her room cleaner than ever before... and is also sleeping better at night.

Both girls love their new rooms. They're getting along better (although still aggravating each other) and can enjoy their own music and space. C is no longer hiding downstairs - she's upstairs with us.

Now I've got to clean up MY room - you know, the pit where all the miscellaneous stuff has piled up. That will be a project for October - after all my work stuff is settled. :-) Procrastination - my middle name!

Oh how fun! LOVE extreme room makeovers! Or even just cleaned up rooms! Around here, a cleaned up room IS an extreme room makeover! Great job! Glad the girls have their own space again, but I'm sure they miss big bro.

I loved doing this stuff as a kid! And now I do it to my kids rooms who hate change :)

I need kids like yours.
