It's sad to see it end...

Fall break is officially over. :-(

But we had a great time enjoying it. S got to spend the week with his family up in Ohio (which he loves doing now that they live closer), worked and tried out for the basketball team. (He didn't make it.) :-(

C, A and I joined dear hubby at the University of Notre Dame for a weekend of football and soccer fun. We all enjoyed the pregame football activities, from the players entering and leaving the basilica for pregame Mass, to the band entering the stadium. The crowds weren't as bad which made it nice with the girls being there. We had planned to tailgate and watch the game in the parking lot, but the antennae on the little tv wouldn't pick up the game. So we headed back to the hotel to watch it... and ended up not only watching it but enjoying the LSU v. UK football game. (In case you haven't heard, #17 UK defeated #1 LSU in double overtime!!) It was a great chance for us all to relax and hang out. You can see more about the soccer game in one of my previous posts.

From there we headed to Michigan to spend the week with dear hubby, meeting some of the folks he works with. It was a nice trip, we got to spend some nice time together, and the girls and I enjoyed several different malls and the Detroit Zoo. Dear hubby and I also got to spend our anniversary (14 years!) together. He kept the kids and sent me to a spa for the day. What a treat that was! He's a wonderful man that I'm blessed to have in my life for 14 married years and 19 total years.

Here are some pics from our trip. Hope you enjoy them!

ND goalie Lauren Karas during their game on Oct. 14. C imitates her style of play.

The Detroit Zoo had lots of colorful peacocks.

This yoga bear cracked us up! He kept grabbing his foot, holding it, then releasing it only to begin the process all over again.

We went to several malls including one with a Rainforest Cafe. The girls loved watching the fish. Don't know if you can see it but 2 fish are sleeping facing downward as they lay in the coral. Apparently they sleep most of the day away while their fishy friends have fun.

The girls spent about half their time in the hotel room. But we had plenty of good books to read, so they didn't mind so much. They also enjoyed the hotel's conceirage lounge and pool.
