My kids

My kids crack me up. I mean, really, if I don't laugh then I'll scream like a banshee or sob.

The first week of school has come and gone. And they are all tired, worn out, but happy at being with friends again.

S is doing well in school, taking driving lessons with his test set for Tuesday, and will start working again next week at his old haunt. His mom and step-dad are staying closer to us now so he gets to see them a lot more often.

C is into soccer 3x a week plus lots of homework. Seems to be the way it is in jr. high. Her team is now Comp 1 and played in a tournament against Comp 1 and Premier level teams. We won the first game, lost the next 2 and tied the final game. It's a bummer they didn't do as well, but it was nice for them to have some competition and see what it feels like to lose.

A is taking her cooking classes and loves them. She's also doing well at school. Already she's decided not to play basketball, but we'll see if her dad changes her mind. He's been known to do that.

Me? I'm working like crazy getting ready for the new youth ministry year. I'm also now leading the CCD program for grades 6-8. It's a lot of work, but worth it. I love what I do so that helps a TON.

Dear hubby is still working like crazy but he's enjoying the challenge of it all. We're grateful for any time we get with him. We all know this won't last forever, so we'll troop through it until it's over.
