Gotta get back, back, back to school again...

You won't find me til the clock strikes 3, I gotta be there today!!

These lovely lyrics from the 80's Grease 2 are ringing in my head today. The kids are starting back to school this week. While I'm happy to be able to get back into some semblance of a routine, I'm sad the summer has flown by.

A brief recap of our summer fun: soccer tournaments, Disney, Notre Dame, Michigan, work, fetching S back and forth from his parents, helping my in-laws move. That about sums it up, with a bit of swimming in there and shopping too.

Looking ahead: C's soccer and starting jr. high; S getting his license and working and generally enjoying his senior year (with the ACT thrown in for fun); cooking classes for A and a new teacher; my workload getting larger as I have jr. high, sr. high, and young adult ministries, plus Confirmation prep and now religious ed for grades 6-8 - a whole new program. With dear hubby's job keeping him busy, looks like we'll all need the routine the school year provides to make it through without killing each other! ;-)

I've always loved school and learning and loved the start of a new year. It was a time of fresh beginnings and pristine school supplies. It always made me smile.

And now I smile as I watch my 3 wonderful children begin new chapters in their lives... and I can't wait to see where the Writer above takes them this year.
