Let the "battle" begin

Dear hubby and I had a long talk tonight. We've decided that there is too much "separation of the people" and not enough "family" with our busy household. With the girls getting older (high school and jr. high on the horizon for next year, with dear step-son already moved out), we've decided to take action.

So we're going to make a true family room - something we've honestly not really had. Our downstairs will be turned into a mecca for family and friend activity. Tomorrow night we're going to meet (after all track and other activities are completed) and discuss what each person would like down there. From there, we're going to work on it TOGETHER a little at a time. We're not looking to spend a lot of money (not a lot to spend at this point!!), but want to make it nice.

Once that's completed, it will make our upstairs a quieter haven for dinner (hopefully finding a bigger dining room table so we can all eat around it - including dear step-son and his girlfriend), and a more peaceful area. And certainly a LOT less cluttered.

The girls and I had already decided that over their spring break we'd spend a day decluttering the garage and getting it ready so that both cars could maybe fit in there again.

It's time to take back our house and make it what we thought of before life happened.
