Since it was only 5 hours to Orlando from Hilton Head, we decided to cash in some hotel points and stay a week in Orlando. Our room was AMAZING!! We were on the top floor (19th) of the North Tower and could see Epcot, the Magic Kingdom, Downtown Disney, downtown Orlando, Sea World... and so much more!! It was such a treat to be able to sit on our deck and watch Illuminations at Epcot and Wishes at the Magic Kingdom. You can even see Cinderella's Castle just to the left of the Contemporary Resort!
Unfortunately my dear hubby had to work that week, so the kids and I were on our own. We enjoyed the pool, and S and C took lots of time to work out and play basketball and tennis and just generally roam the big property.
We spent one afternoon/evening at CityWalk, which is part of Universal Resort. Dinner was at the NASCAR Grille, a fun place to be. Then while S and I shopped a bit, the girls had custom t-shirts made (airbrush) and my loving hubby relaxed. A also made a friend. It was a fun, relaxing night, with the BEST margarita - from Margaritaville of course. Believe it or not, I took this pic at CityWalk!
The kids and I went to Sea World for a day and then took advantage of the second day free to go back. I hadn't been to Sea World since I was a little kid, S had been there as a little kid but didn't remember it. The girls hadn't been there before. It was a lot of fun, with the kids feeding sharks, stingrays, seals and dolphins. Lots of fun shows; the girls sat in the Soak Zone for the Shamu Believe show and the second time they got SOAKED!! Their shirts were dripping! :-)
(Yeah - that's the Budweiser wagon and Clydesdales and Dalmation!! VERY cool to see in person.)
S and my loving hubby played golf one afternoon at our resort. The girls and I watched part of their round from our deck. For our final night there, Mom and Dad stayed with us - there was enough room for us all in the suite we had. Thank God for hotel points!!
It was a great way to chill out before Disney and the soccer tournament! More to come on that in a later post.
By the way - here's shot of a storm rolling in to the Orlando area. I was able to snap just as lightning struck! You can see it just to the right of the building in the middle.

Bet you were lovin' the view from "up there!" What a treat! Neat pics of the view!
Are you having a hard time adjusting to real life again??
VERY hard adjusting but am glad to be getting back to "normal" life.
